3 Key Highlights of Arts Month 2015
In the Pikes Peak region, our annual Arts Month initiative is designed to raise awareness for the area’s creative community and showcase the many exciting arts & cultural events taking place across the Pikes Peak region during the month of October (and all year long)! Here are 3 highlights to get you started:
1. The month is themed into 4 weeks that mirror the first 4 categories on PeakRadar.com, our region’s cultural calendar.
Week 1: Theatre & Film
Week 2: Visual Arts
Week 3: Music & Dance
Week 4: Poetry, Prose & Comedy
Over 140 cultural events and activities are happening across our community during October, plus there’s all kinds of creative fun that doesn’t fit neatly into any category other than – Wow!
2. The call to action is to “have one new cultural experience with friends or family during the month of October.” To energize our call to action this year, we’ve launched the #MyArtsMonth Selfie Contest. Share a selfie of you and your friends and family enjoying the arts using the hashtag #MyArtsMonth. Each week, we’ll draw random winners to receive free tickets to upcoming shows! Click here for rules and eligibility.
3. The homepage is www.PeakRadar.com/ArtsMonth.
Use the site and share it on Facebook so that your friends use it, too. If you’re involved with an arts group, you’ll find easy tools to connect what you’re doing with Arts Month at:
www.coppercolo.org/resources/arts-month-toolkit/.
If you have any questions about Arts Month 2015, please contact Andy Vick at 719-634-2204, or andy at coppercolo.org.

Colorado Artists Statewide Survey
If you haven’t done so already, please join nearly 1,000 fellow artists who have already completed this 5-minute survey about their immediate needs:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/COA_visualarts
Doing so sends a strong message about your willingness to consider and support new possibilities for yourself and your fellow artists. The survey is open until October 15, but don’t delay. And please forward the survey link to other visual artists! Thank you.
